Sleeping in Germany
Finding inexpensive accommodations in Germany is a problem, not because there are few places to stay, but because there are so many websites to search. We have had good luck with Airbnb, but it does not filter for farms. If you want to stay on a farm, which we highly recommend, you will need to consider several websites some of which are in German only.
The Blue Rooster is in English and offers farm stays in Bavaria. Landsichten provides farm stays all over Germany, but is in German. We recommend that you just cut and paste in Google Translate to understand the site. I have posted more websites below.

Kornbauernhof, Oberharmersbach, Black Forest
One-bedroom apartment with kitchen and private bath for two, 34€ ($42)/night.
Jakob's Airbnb one-bedroom apartment
with private entrance, kitchen, and private bath for two in Hinterweidenthal, $57/night
Please take a look at these websites to find your ideal vacation accommodations in Germany. Of course, we highly recommend that you stay on a farm.
